Volunteering: Citizens Advice Bedford

Citizens Advice Bedford is looking for new volunteer advisors to join their team, and also has an opportunity for a money advice assistant.

Citizens Advice Bedford (CAB) is an independent charitable organisation that helps people resolve their problems by providing information and advice. 

Their service is open to anyone: it is free, independent, confidential and impartial.

CAB exists to help those who live or work in the Borough of Bedford.

Can you help?

There are opportunities to help the organisation deliver their services at a time of deepening need.

Volunteer advisor

You will be providing information to clients on a range of issues - this will typically include housing, benefits, and redundancy. 

You will be aged 18 or over, IT proficient (Word and internet browsing, non judgemental and approachable. No previous experience is required as full training and support will be given.   You will be working remotely. 

If you can reliably commit a few hours per week and would like more information CAB would love to hear from you!

Money Advice Assistant

As a Money Advice Assistant you will be part of a dedicated Money Advice Team. You will support the team by speaking with clients to explore and identify their financial problem. You will provide relevant information and guidance to enable clients to deal with their situation more effectively. This service is offered face to face (in accordance with Covid-19 restrictions) and via telephone.

You will receive comprehensive training on Debt and Money and will be fully supported during training.

You will need to be aged 18 or over, IT proficient (Word and internet browsing) and a fluent English speaker.
