Nominating someone for an honour or award

10 March 2022

A message from the Office of the Lord-Lieutenant of Bedfordshire.

Many voluntary organisations and individuals are making a huge contribution and enhancing the lives of people in Bedfordshire, very often in their own time and for no public recognition. Some of them have been awarded much coveted Royal Honours for their excellent work. However, there are still many unsung heroes in our county.

We think it is important to identify them and nominate them for the recognition they so richly deserve. As key people and groups working in the heart of our communities, you are very well placed to know who these worthy individuals are.

The Lord Lieutenant's Honours Panel would be pleased to support you by providing you with the necessary knowledge and understanding of the criteria for and the process of nomination. You can find information by accessing the honours website.

However, we feel that with our experience of nominating groups and individuals and assessing others’ nominations, we can offer a few virtual and face-to-face sessions in the future. For the viability and effectiveness of the sessions, we would expect to have a maximum number of 20 attendees and a minimum number of 10. If you would like to register your interest in attending such a session, please e-mail lord.lieutenant@bedfordshire.gov.uk

For further information, please contact Lisa Hutchinson on 0300 300 6090.
