The following volunteering opportunities were added to the CVS Simply Connect platform during August 2026

Grantscape

Trustees

GrantScape is seeking to appoint two new Trustees to join and strengthen our Board. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain or further develop board-level experience while contributing to the governance of a respected and well-established charity.

 

Lewsey Farm Learning Centre Trust

Kitchen Assistant 

The role involves assisting with basic food preparation, such as plating, portioning, and warming food, as well as setting up the kitchen and dining area before each session. Responsibilities also include serving meals, drinks, and refreshments to members, ensuring that food is presented safely, hygienically, and attractively.

Luncheon Club Assistants

Warmly welcoming members as they arrive and creating a friendly, supportive atmosphere through conversation and companionship. Assisting with setting up the room, preparing tables, and organising resources, as well as supporting the serving of lunch, refreshments, and light snacks.

 

Headway Bedford

Singing Session Assistant   

To support the Music Vocal Specialist with running music/singing sessions for aphasic clients. This role includes general support (e.g., encouraging engagement, giving out equipment where applicable etc.) and using Zoom (sharing screen, muting/unmuting participants and scrolling down the lyrics).

Volunteer Art Group Facilitator

The Volunteer Art Group Facilitator will lead or support another volunteer to deliver informal art sessions for adults with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI). Through creative activities, volunteers will help clients develop confidence, self-expression, concentration, problem-solving skills, and social connections in a supportive and enjoyable environment.


Forward Trust

Volunteer Peer Mentor - For the Forward Trust

Use your lived experience to inspire change! Become a Peer Mentor supporting people on probation to build confidence and brighter futures. Have you overcome challenges in life and want to use your experience to inspire others? We’re recruiting Peer Mentors with lived experience to support people on probation in the community or preparing for release from prison.

 

Bedfordshire Rural Communities Charity

Volunteer Garden Buddy

This role aims to support people to gain confidence in growing fresh food. It involves supporting a small number of people who attend weekly garden sessions. These will take place on a Tuesday, and are located in the outdoor space at a local residential home in Ampthill.


Keech Hospice Care

Shop Assistant Volunteer (Leighton Buzzard)   

Our Volunteers are at the heart of the day to day running of our shops. We thank you for your time given to the charity. The shops provide much needed income to provide nursing care for our patients. Our purpose is to care for our patients and to support their families and friends. 

 

Emmaus Village Carlton

Trustee

In partnership with schools across the UK, we strive to give young people the best possible preparation for higher education and the world of work. As a volunteer coach, you’ll play a vital role in putting this mission into practice.

 

NOAH Enterprise

Volunteer Woodwork Workshop Leader   

You'll support a small group of learners with a range of abilities, sharing practical woodworking skills in a safe, encouraging, and inclusive environment. Whether participants are complete beginners or have some experience, you'll help them build confidence, learn new skills, and enjoy creating together.

 

Bedfordshire Refugee & Asylum Seeker Support (BRASS)

Volunteer Drop in Advisers - Mondays and Thursdays 10am - 2pm

BRASS runs drop in sessions for Refugees and Asylum Seekers. we have specialist advisers for Immigration and Benefits. We require a volunteer to advise clients on Tuesdays on more general matters eg. utility bills; school applications; GP registration etc.

 

Kidsout UK Ltd

Office administration volunteer

As an office administration volunteer, you'll provide valuable administrative support to teams across KidsOut. You'll help keep our office running efficiantly while supporting a range of projects that enable us to deliver our services to children and young people affected by domestic abuse.

 

Ridgmont Station Heritage Centre

Ridgmont Station Heritage Centre Refreshments Volunteer

The role involves welcoming customers and showing them to their tables, taking and serving orders, clearing tables, and processing cash and card payments, with training provided. Duties also include washing up and helping to clean and tidy the restaurant at the end of the day, as well as assisting with other tasks as required.

Shop Volunteer - Kempston
