Volunteer Now!

01 September 2026

CVS Bedfordshire is working with local partners in Bedford Borough to launch Volunteer Now! a new volunteering campaign in 2026. By connecting people to meaningful opportunities, the campaign aims to reduce health inequalities and strengthen communities. Volunteering tackles social isolation, builds confidence and skills, supports inclusive employment and lifelong learning, and helps organisations demonstrate social value while engaging more deeply with local communities.

You don’t need any experience, all the instruction and training is provided, you just need to come along and be willing to get stuck in.

Embrace
Embrace is a small Bedfordshire‑based charity supporting families living with disabilities. Established in 1954, Embrace’s mission is to provide unwavering support to families, empowering individuals and ensuring no family member feels left behind. The charity champions inclusive, adaptable support and places empathy, understanding, and community at the heart of everything it does.

Food etc
Food etc empowers people to make better food choices by teaching them how to cook inexpensive, tasty and nutritious meals from scratch. We want to give them the skills and knowledge they need to move away from costly and unhealthy ultra processed foods (UPF) and choose economical, tasty and whole foods instead.

Bedfordshire Cloth Nappy Library
By offering these kits for a small fee and a returnable deposit, we make it possible for families to use reusable nappies from birth without having to buy newborn-sized nappies. Our BTP kits allow families to try before they buy, ensuring they know exactly what to purchase without wasting money on types they don’t get on with.
