For groups of 12 or less, we offer the opportunity to do some volunteering as part of our Monday nature conservation programme. The focus is on habitat management and access to greenspace. In autumn and winter activities typically include scrub clearance, maintenance and repairs, tree planting, wildflower sowing. In spring and summer, activities include hand-pulling invasive species along our river corridor and species monitoring and surveying. Booking is essential. For groups of more than 12, we can facilitate bespoke activities in our greenspace. These can incur a cost to cover officer time and resources. |

The Wildlife Trust Beds, Cambs & Northants
|
The Wildlife Trust BCN runs a programme called Wild Work Days which are specifically designed for teams and groups to get out on our reserves and involved in our work. These days are great opportunities for teams to get involved in practical and educational work on our reserves and are very popular with companies and their staff as they provide a great team building experience, getting people outdoors and connected with nature. The Wildlife Trust BCN manages over 100 nature reserves in our three counties, meaning we are usually able to find a location that suits you and your team. Our Wild Days out are best suited to groups of between 8-25 although we are able to at times make exceptions for larger groups with enough time in advance. We have a variety of days depending on the time of year for corporate groups to book onto, including;
Charges apply, that are available upon enquiry. |
The best point of contact for getting in touch with us to arrange these is [email protected], we also have a form online that can be filled out giving us the necessary details to organise a Wild Work Day. This can be found here - Wild Work Day Form | Wildlife Trust for Beds, Cambs & Northants (wildlifebcn.org) - https://www.wildlifebcn.org/form/wild-work-day-form. All of our corporate activities depend on the time of year requested, location and group size. |

Forest of Marston Vale
|
For groups of 12 or less, we offer volunteer opportunities throughout the year. We are Bedfordshire’s Community Forest, and we create woodlands and places for nature to thrive. Our volunteers are key to helping us manage those habitats. You might be helping to remove redundant tree tubes from our trees, pulling ragwort from our meadows, or clearing scrub to help us maintain our mosaic of habitats. Work is fun and varied; you‘ll have the chance to learn about how we manage our woodlands, and to really make a difference. All tools and training are provided. Booking is essential. |

Freinds for Life
|
We work in care homes in Bedford Borough to help reduce the loneliness and social isolation of residents who have few or no visitors. We’d love to talk to you about volunteering your skills and talents to support a one-off event or activity in a care home (for example music, singing, reading, or crafts), or if you have staff who want to give ongoing befriending time. Fundraising is also very much appreciated! |

Link to Change |
At Link to Change, we welcome corporate volunteering as a valuable way for businesses to support our work with children and young people at risk of exploitation. While opportunities for hands-on maintenance, gardening or refurbishment tasks are limited due to the nature of our service, we encourage teams to get involved through fundraising activities. Corporate fundraising not only helps raise vital funds for our specialist support services but also builds awareness of the issues facing vulnerable young people in our communities. We’re happy to work with companies to create meaningful, impactful ways for staff to contribute. |
