Luton Homeless Fund - criteria and process

What can be supported:
Projects or initiatives that helps someone get off the streets and stay off the streets.
Beneficiaries should fall into one of these categories:
- Currently rough sleeping in the borough of Luton
- At significant risk of rough sleeping in the borough of Luton.
- Confirmed rough sleeping within the past 6-12 months in the borough of Luton.
- Organisations must have a governing document and a building society or bank account. Any grant awarded will be paid by BACS to the organisation named.
What will not be supported:
- Any activity or item which can be accessed for free or financed through any pre-existing funding streams.
- Retrospective applications (items you have already purchased or committed to purchase).
- Any activity where some or all of the funding may be given as cash to the client.
- A repayment of debt that the clients might have built up.
- Profit making organisations, and organisation that are not members of Luton Homeless Partnership.
How much funding is available?
Requests for funding between £1,000 and £5,000 will be considered.
Process for applying
There is a two-stage process:
- Applicants should submit a very short project outline (no more than two sides of A4) to lhp@cvsbeds.org.uk.
- The grants panel will then consider the project outline and provide feedback to the applicant. The grants panel may wish, as part of their consideration, invite the applicant to a meeting to discuss the proposed project.
- The grants panel will then issue feedback as to whether a more detailed proposal should be submitted for consideration.
- The decision of the grants panel is final. There is no appeals process.
