whatimpact matches government suppliers with local charities, voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations.
Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) is collaborating with whatimpact – National Social Value Marketplace™ to support local VCSEs in partnering with public sector contractors and accessing new opportunities.
The Public Services (Social Value) Act ‘requires people who commission public services to think about how they can also secure wider social, economic and environmental benefits.’ Companies looking to deliver services for the council are required to set out what ‘Social Value’ they can offer, and via Whatimpact, they will be looking for local VCSE organisations to support.
This free platform gives VCSEs the ability to apply directly for funding, in-kind support and professional skills donations, all within a streamlined system designed to build meaningful and lasting partnerships. More than 300,000 UK charities are already listed using Charity Commission data, alongside many social enterprises and community organisations, making it easier for them to access the resources they need to deliver positive impact. Companies, especially those supplying the public sector, can search for VCSEs based on type, location and beneficiary group to ensure their support reaches the right causes.
One of the platform’s key features is a hyper-local interactive map, which now shows all registered grant-makers, helping VCSEs easily find and connect with funders in their area. By claiming or creating a profile, organisations can increase their visibility, access new opportunities and use built-in reporting tools to demonstrate their impact, which can also help generate unrestricted funding.
whatimpact.com is encouraging all VCSEs to claim their pin on the map and update their details to make the most of what the platform offers. Take part in this new approach to social value collaboration at no cost and help shape a more connected and effective support system across the UK.
